French Vanilla Coffee Just Like Starbucks' Coffee Frappuccino

Hello everyone!

Today I have a drink recipe! WOOOOT
It's super simple and something you can make in advance and just let it sit and chill in your fridge until you want a glass!

I first found this recipe on Pinterest and there was NO link back to the original poster, but I definitely changed this recipe by a lot because the original was WAY too sweet. I'm going to post my changes and the original.

Oh! I "almost" forgot to mention. This is almost like the Starbucks Coffee Frappuccino's that are in the glass jars. It's super yummy warm or cold!

Original :

  1. 10 cups of Coffee
  2. 1/2 cup of White Sugar
  3. 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (either light or dark)
  4. 1/2 cup French Vanilla Creamer
Brew your coffee to your preference and mix in the sugars and creamer.
Chill or drink warm!!

Now, you can't tell me that doesn't sound extremely sweet. I thought it did when I first made it and I must say when I first made it I used 12 cups of coffee and I also added a 1/4 cup of Salted Caramel Torani Syrup. ALL you could taste was the sugar practically. WAY too sweet!

My Recipe:
  1. 10 cups of Coffee
  2. 1/4 cup of White Sugar
  3. 1/4 cup of Brown Sugar
  4. 1/4 cup of  French Vanilla Creamer
  5. 1/2 cup of Milk
The rations in this make it taste JUST like the French Vanilla Starbucks frappuccino. No lie! It's supper yummy! Eek!

I also want to point out that you can adjust the creamer to your liking. You can also make it indulgent by adding some whipped cream to it! I was going to make my own, but didn't have any whipping cream! I'm not too find of French Vanilla honestly, but I wanted to follow the original recipe. I definitely say switch it up to your coffee liking! I can tell that I am going to have this in my fridge all of the time!

I know it sounds like a LOT of coffee, and indeed it is, but this definitely isn't something you want to drink all in one go. This would be something to maybe drink throughout the week and you don't have to spend $4 a bottle the Starbucks, when you can make it at home CHEAPER and better without all of the crap. Not just that, but with the Starbucks ones, it leaves a pretty nasty film in my mouth, which is why I quit drinking them! Yuck yuck!

I hope you all enjoy this!
Let me know what you think if you make it!

  1. Why all the sugar and cream? Why not the flavored syrups, milk and ice like they do at the stores?

    1. I edited the recipe down from the original which contained 2x more sugar and cream. The amounts I have listed make quite a bit and can be changed accordingly. I am not able to purchase the syrups where I am located so the creamer is easier for me to use. By all means, if you're wanting to switch out the creams and sugar use syrups. This particular way is just how my Husband and Brother like to drink it. I myself find it tooth rotting sweet.

  2. Any thoughts on how much vanilla extract to use in place of creamer? I don' t use store bought creamers. They all taste so artificial to me. I like the sounds of this though.

    1. I totally agree with you on the artificial taste! I would say try it out starting with small amounts and see what you like taste wise. I can't really answer the correct amount because I haven't tried using the vanilla extract. If you do try it let me know how it goes!
